If you own a BMW you probably understand that the cost of BMW maintenance is a bit more expensive than other vehicles. However, you can keep your car maintenance affordable by taking advantage of the maintenance plan for new BMWs.
In case you aren’t aware or perhaps you forgot, BMW offers a maintenance program for customers in the U.S. This program is a new BMW service plan and applies to BMWs purchased either in the U.S or through the BMW NA’s Military Sales Program.
There are two specific categories for these programs:
1. The standard maintenance plan is for BMWs during the first four years or 50,000 miles (whichever one comes first).
2. The upgraded plan is an extension of the standard plan and adds an additional two to six years or 50,000 to 100,000 (whichever one comes first).
Recommendations from the factory on maintenance are covered under these plans, as long as you visit an authorized U.S. BMW center.
Examples of services that are covered include:
• Oil change
• Air filter replacement
• Windshield wiper replacement
• Brake pads and discs replacement
• Spark plugs
• Fuel filter
• Oxygen sensors
• Engine drive belts
• Manual transmission oil
• Cabin dust microfilters
• And so much more
The best way to learn if your service is covered or not under this plan is to talk to your local BMW certified garage. They will be able to help you determine the service schedule and to make sure that your vehicle is part of the program.
German Auto Center is managed and owned by Len Gilmore.
